This time I try to fly some basic maneuvers with the close air support plane A-10C in the hardcore simulator DCS, Digital Combat Simulator Series - with the Oculus Rift DK2.

This is a highly complex and challenging simulation with endless things to learn and practice. If you're not a fan of sims, I've added a little nav bar below to skip to certain parts of interest.

What's DCS?
Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) is a free-to-play digital military aircraft battlefield simulation developed by Eagle Dynamics (ED) which is available on Steam. It includes a free Sukhoi Su-25T attack aircraft and TF-51D Mustang, and is extensible through additional DCS modules as well as user-made add-ons and mods. In my case I'm flying the A10-C module.

DCS World features a large area of the Caucasus region that encompasses much of Georgia - the location of the Russo-Georgian war in 2008.

Additionally, DCS World includes: mission and campaign editors, online multiplayer, large inventory of air, land and sea combat units and weapons, advanced AI, mission generator, dynamic weather and seasons, training missions, mission replay system, and pilot log book.
