Part 5 of a NG playthrough of Gunvalkyrie. My lack of practice really shows in this run.

Civ Base 1 is a bit of an anomaly; it's all tight corridors and rough boost environments. Bases 2 and 3, on the other hand, are built around large vertical shafts with rooms sticking out on the sides. Missing any enemies on the way down might as well spell doom for your score, and with the time limit on this one, a slow player could need to restart with even a minor mistake.

Hugins start showing up and are the real reason this mission isn't a cakewalk. Gungnirs are significantly easier to deal with in their open environments on this level, despite my comical mistake against one of them here, and Frekis and friends are never really a big threat. Syns are generally not bad to deal with, although the ones in the last fight pose a serious threat to a decent score thanks to Hugin support. With the ridiculous bug clouds, huge area-of-effect attacks, and invincibility phases, Hugins are the probably the most irritating non-boss in this game.

This level's pretty linear and straightforward, so there's not a whole lot to say other than that.
