Leveling in GW2 isn't particularly difficult. If anything, the most confusing part of leveling is just understanding where to put your traits and trying to learn what's effective. I'll say this build isn't great, by any standard, but I got to 80 on this path without being killed much at all.
So with that in mind, here's a video that shows my thought processes when I was building my necromancer traits.
