Gyrostarr- Basic gameplay
I got bored so I decided to play a little Gyrostarr. Gyrostarr was one of the first WiiWare games to be released along with LostWinds and Final Fantasy Chronicles: My Life as a King. This game is an on-rail shooter where you are a little car trying to collect white orbs. At the top of the screen is a little bar showing how far into the level you are. A white bar will also appear in it showing the white orbs you've collected. You must get the white bar up to the 0 point by the time you get to the ened of the level in order to complete. If you can get the white bar to the second 0, you will warp to a bonus sector.
The game can be played in several ways. The main way is to play with the Wiimote on its side. You can turn on motion control if you want, which makes it so you move right when you tilt the Wiimmote right and move left when you tilt the Wiimote left. I turned it off, so all I had to do was use the D-Pad. You press 2 to shoot and 1 to fire a bomb. If you fire a bomb, it destroys all of the "enemies" on the screen. You can collect more when you see a little circle with a bomb icon in it.
This game is pretty fun for it being $10 (1000 wii points = $10). It's a little repetitive, but it's fun. There's other WiiWare games that I'd recommend over it like Mega Man 9, World of Goo, or Dr. Mario Online RX. This is still a pretty fun game though.
