.hack//G.U. Vol.3 - Doppelganger 4th
Naturally, I realized just after the battle began that I had forgotten to switch my bike back from Bike Mission mode to Everything Else mode. I debated on and off throughout the battle whether I should reset and rectify that. I would've beaten him much quicker had I remembered.
I know a lot of people disagree with me on this, but I personally hate Charm. It has that tendency to, you know, make your allies not attack. It's pretty annoying. Honestly, I believe it could be plenty useful if you were soloing, but it's terrible if you're not (because then you might as well be soloing).
Also, dangit allies (mostly Endrance), quit knocking him into Rengeki state RIGHT as I am about to activate Awakening. I also know a lot of people disagree with me on this as well (because a lot of people are stupid), but Awakened Rengekis are terrible for damage (they're only useful for showing off). The small bonus damage from the Rengeki is already offset by the attack being significantly slowed down (while the Morale gauge is NOT). And then it's really put over into negative by the fact that a Rengeki instantly cancels all other actions, meaning your allies will always not be doing any damage for the full duration, no matter what. Normal Skill Triggers are cool, because they only don't allow any new actions to start during the attack, but don't cancel those already in progress, so it's all good as long as you set it off just after your allies start up their own Skills. Of course, this also doesn't matter if you happen to be soloing.
Many players who think they're smart like to use both Charm and Awakened Rengeki as cornerstones in their strategies. Of course, the major flaw is that they're not only not thinking of all aspects, they're not thinking of something as obvious as factoring their party members in. They only think as far as Haseo and stop.
Anyway, the bike is fixed, and I have no reason to ever change its parts again, so this little annoyance shouldn't pop up again. For the next round I'm using Dual Guns all the way, by the way (regardless of the fact that they're obviously by far the hardest possible weapon to fight Doppelganger with, I find it fun).
