Haddad: It makes no sense to change the BC's legal framework
💡 WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
🏢 Government Power | Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said this Wednesday (September 3, 2025) that it "doesn't make sense" to change the legal framework of the BC (Central Bank). The proposal is included in Senator Plínio Valério's (PSDB-AM) opinion on Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) 65 of 2023.
"To transform an institution that is a public service into private law, for what purpose? To break the ceiling on public service? It doesn't make sense. We're going a long way, in the right way, but we're not going to turn this institutional agenda into a corporate agenda," Haddad told reporters.
