Installation
NOTE: You need to own original Half-Life to install (on Steam or elsewhere, on sale often for $1.49 https://store.steampowered.com/app/70/HalfLife/).
Setup Sidequest and Dev mode first! Instructions: https://sidequestvr.com/my-app/124
Open the Sidequest Desktop app, search for Lambda1vr. Click "Download (Sideload)" to install the port! In the next step we install the HL files!
Create a folder called "xash" on your Quest.
Into "xash" copy the whole "Valve" folder from your HL Steam installation on your pc. Copy the whole folder not only the contents of it! You can just drag and drop the folder.
NOTE: Use Sidequest to copy over the files is most fail prove, the windows file explorer might not copy it correctly. To use the Sidequest file explorer click the little folder icon in the upper right corner in the Sidequest app. Patience, transferring the files can take up to 15 minutes!
Reboot your Quest.
Ready to play! Go to unknown sources and start lambda1vr!
Attention: The Intro-Train-Ride can be hard on the stomach! Press Y to enter comfort mode!
Optional: Read the reddit guide (under links) if you also wanna install HD textures or HD models.
Use the optional Lambda1vr Launcher to change resolution (SuperSampling), texture filtering and use it to switch between the expansions packs (DLC) easily. Download: https://sdq.st/a/641
