Half Life 2: Episode 1 - E02 "Core Stabilization"
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 was released in 2006 as a sequel to Half-Life 2. Upon its release, critics' responses were generally positive. In this game, Alyx and the player must get back inside the Citadel and delay an inevitable explosion, then escape City 17 while saving other citizens and fighting the Combine and other enemies along the way. This game is the first official release to put HDR (high-dynamic range) rendering, developer commentary - both introduced in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast - and upgraded facial animation of the Source engine to use. It was originally supposed to be called Half-Life 2: Aftermath, but was changed after Valve planned to make the game episodic. Half-Life 2: Episode 1 is available on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux packaged with Half-Life 2: Deathmatch for $7.99, or as part of the Orange Box on Xbox 360, PS3, and Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux for $19.99.
