[Synopsis]

This video is a play through of Half-Life 2 Episode 2. I first played this game in 2007 on my Pentium IV 3.0 HT based computer with a Geforce 6800 GT 256 mb video card, it has been about 13 years since I played this game. I bought this game on Amazon, but it had to be activated and played on Steam. Due to this reason, I was able to play it on my I7-4790k based computer with a Geforce GTX 970 without any problems. Steam does a good job of keeping all their old games up to date, so you can play their old games on the latest computer hardware.

In this add on game, you are trying to escape from the Citadel to the resistance's strong hold with some code. This code will enable you to shutdown the dimensional portal which has caused so much chaos, destruction, and havoc on earth. You need to get this code back to the missile base, so the scientists can launch a rocket to space to close the portal saving the planet.

In order to achieve your mission, you have to solve many puzzles and find strategies to defeat a overwhelming enemy forces. You have to save often, because you want to spawn from where you died. As for the puzzles, you have everything you need right there to solve it. I didn't use any hint guides or cheats to finish this game, and I didn't remember very much from 13 years ago. This game plays very much like a late 1990s 1st person shooter, so it is a little more challenging compared to modern 1st person shooters.

The graphics for this game is very good, but it didn't require a lot of hardware to run smoothly. Even by today's standard, it is still good. Source was a very good gaming engine with physics to emulate 3d world environments. This gaming engine was programmed very well, and this is an example of good programming skills. A good program requires less system resources and runs good, and a bad program is slow and requires a lot of system resources.

All in all, I thought this was a great game, it wasn't too hard, and it wasn't too easy. Very action packed, and it requires you to use your brain to solve puzzles. It is a pity they didn't release Half-Life 3.
