CORRUPTING MODERN PC GAMES? Yes it's possible, because the game used had an asset storage file that kept all the game data in it, like a normal ROM does, so depending on what kinda of file the game uses you can probably corrupt a game relatively easily, BUT BE WARNED, corrupting PC games is EXTREMELY TEDIOUS, I spent about 1.5 hours trying to find the right values and amount of bytes to corrupt, but the end result is amazing.

Before I get into the details, THANKS FOR 30 SUBSCRIBERS!

Here's what I've found out.

Valve's games that use the "SteamPipe" system which converts all the game files to .vpk files are good games to corrupt

Pretty much any game made in Unity is not corruptible because it has some kind of file protection system.

What I assume is that any game without a file protection or loose files run game is corruptable, you just need to know what files contain what, like in HL2 Lost Coast, the two .vpk files contain different game assets, one contained game scripts and another contained map files and models, so corrupting the models I thought would be safe, so I don't totally break the game.
Some examples of PC games you MIGHT be able to corrupt are
-Metro Last Light, Yes, it sounds far fetch, but this game only has files that store game files, no folders with game assets in them, just zipped game files.
-Skyrim, also far fetch, because the game does have loose files, BUT the main game file is a singular ".esm" file, so that could be a possible victim
- MINECRAFT, yes, Minecraft, the main game file is a JAR file, so you could easily use a corrupter on that, also on the sound files!

If you want to try out these corruptions for yourself, download the saves here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44511606/LOST%20COAST.zip
What you are going to want to do is rename the "lostcoast_pak_000.vpk" to lostcoast_pak_000_OLD.vpk" so you don't lose the file completely and then set it to be the "ROM to corrupt" then set the "Save corrupted ROM to" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life 2\lostcoast\lostcoast_pak_000.vpk" so it automatically updates the ".vpk" file every time you corrupt it, DESELECT "Run emulator after corrupting", when you've made your changes click RUN, then go into steam and launch the game from there.
