Half life Alex crash fix
8UPDATE: Game does not react well to certain resolutions. Try that as well.
Sorry I’m late on this but I just got VR.
If you’re still getting into it, half life Alex is one of the most amazing games I’ve ever played. It will blow your mind in VR. But a lot of people are having a lot of problems with it.
One of which is when you start the game it
crashes and has some kind of error. This is what you’re going to do to fix it. It fixed mine, it may not fix everybody’s but it definitely works.

Directory:
Steam apps/common/Half-Life Alyx/Game/bin/win64/ Right click hlvr.exe go to properties (or show more on win 11, then properties) then the compatibility tab. Check box in “run this program in compatibility mode for:” , drop down select: windows 8. 🍻
FIXES FOR SOME GAME TITLES:
Microsoft flight simulator won’t start.
Set -fastlaunch in launch options in steam, general settings for the game.
Elite dangerous double vision.
Set parallel projection mode on in Pitool.
