Here is some gameplay footage of one of the older versions of the Half-Life mod named Day of Defeat; Beta 1.3, which was released to the Internet in June 2001, long before it was made into a retail game starting in 2003.

The match plays out on a classic map, dod_hill, in which Axis has to defend a fortification on the top of a big hill and the Allies are tasked with occupying the fortified base by capturing four control points located around the hilltop. It's a wide and pretty sprawling map that offers both good flanking opportunities for the Allies and highly explosive tools of defense for the Axis to take advantage of.

The Beta 1.3 version of Day of Defeat is one of my personal favorites of this excellent game modification. It goes highly recommended for anyone who likes World War 2-themed multiplayer action games.
