Halfway to Hell | Shield Runes, Dragon Forges & Ahzrak’s Empty Throne
We’ve officially hit the halfway point of DOOM: The Dark Ages, and somehow it’s still getting dumber and cooler at the same time. In this extended session, we tore through four full chapters of the campaign on Nightmare Mode, including:
Abyssal Forest – Hell-tainted woods with plenty of rotten ambience and mythic setup.
The Ancestral Forge – Built from the corpse of a draconic Ancient of Argent D'Nur (yes, really). Its still-living heart gives us the first Shield Rune: Faultline, a parry-based shockwave.
Lore Update: The Heart of Argent? Yeah, apparently it’s King Novik’s daughter. She doesn’t know. It’s fine.
The Forsaken Plains – Ruined Hellscape littered with dead Titans, Sentinel mech husks, and demonic artillery. We destroy two Hell Turrets and reanimate an Atlan warframe using salvage.
Hellbreaker – Piloting our stolen Atlan, we finally get to tear through Demon Titans in a glorious siege. Along the way, we gain a second Shield Rune that unleashes spectral daggers on parry.
But Ahzrak—yes, Ahzrak, not Azrock or Asshat—isn’t even home.
The stream ends with Kreed Makyr pulling Novik’s daughter into whatever divine drama is next.
To recap:
Draconic forges. Mythic fluids. Runes. Dead mechs. Daddy issues.
It’s He-Man (M-Rated Edition) and I am still here for it.
