Halloween Harry / Alien Carnage - DOS (1993)
1Good thing they changed the name, because I just don't see the Halloween in this. It's an impressive game with a few issues. I was of the camp that didn't think PC platformers, action or not, weren't the way to go. Consoles was the best experience. Sure, computers were versatile, but they just didn't have the speed and tight controls that you'd find on consoles. That doesn't mean that the games weren't worth it. They just weren't for me. Neither was Keen, and those games have quite a legacy. Amiga owners will probably scoff at me, too, but that's just my preference.
The game is a decent adventure, but it doesn't play how it looks. It's slower, more deliberate, and takes a bit of exploration before you can get to the point where you can fly through it. Even the flying is very stop/go without any fun momentum. The graphics and soundtrack are great, though.
