Tac/Scan - Arcade (1982)
For 1982, I'm pretty impressed even if I'm not a huge fan. Again, I need to highlight that without the proper light intensity, reproduction gameplay doesn't hit the same way.
You have a lot of options at your disposal for changing your formation. This does help, but it also means a lot is going on at all times and each formation makes you vulnerable in some way. You can replace lost fighters by picking them up, but you need to deploy them. There's a careful balance between being maneuvarable and having more firepower and life. It frustrated me that you can die SUPER quick, so having one fighter on the screen is a disadvantage most of the time until you master this game. The right controls are also key, because if you don't have the right controls them this is a struggle to turn the fighters the way you want.
