"Hey guys, Peter Griffin here to explain the joke. 'Vergil Status' videos are YouTube videos in which a video, often less safe for work in nature, is interrupted by the character Vergil from 'Devil May Cry' before anything explicit is shown. This plays on a long-running staple of Internet comedy where a video is interrupted by another or the viewer is tricked into watching a different video. In this Vergil Status however, the audience's expectations are further subverted when the video cuts to the opening to the 2002 Japanese Tokusatsu TV show, 'Kamen Rider Ryuki', when the glass breaking effect of Vergil's 'Judgement Cut End' move leads into the breaking glass intro of the opening. Cutting to the 'Kamen Rider Ryuki' opening when glass breaks in a video is not a new concept, and has become known as a 'Ryuki Roll', similar in nature to a 'Rick Roll'. This video combines the two memes into one, as well as including a fully custom animation instead of using pre-existing family unfriendly content.
