ODST is one of those divisive games that come up in long running franchise. Other examples are like Final Fantasy 8, or Mario Sunshine. Games that a lot of fans like, and a lot of fans don't. And largely because of some issues that exist, and differences from the other games in the franchise.

ODST's battle missions are in my view, some of the most fantastic missions you can play in the series. But, the city sections are dull, and I've played that slow moving less exciting dark stuff much better in other games. The other complaint, which isn't so different from Nintendo's Federation Force, is the lack of Master Chief, or even a Spartan.

But if you can get past all that, and play the main missions, you are in for a good time. The battle missions are fun and well crafted, and worth the slog to get to.
