Halo MCC: Insider PC - Halo 3 Forge NEW FORGE OBJECTS, CONTROLS & TOOLS
70The new MCC Insider is available, and we get to take a sneak peak at Halo 3's Forge, and it is some pretty exciting stuff! In this video you will see updated controls, object positioning tools, snapping objects, updated physic options, an increased budget, and (best of all) new forge objects!
Here are my notes on testing it out:
- Controls are A LOT smoother. They are more like Halo Reach's forge controls. Objects don't lag behind where you move, you are less floaty, and all around have better control.
-Tools are a very nice addition. Any Halo 3 Forge veteran knows Halo 3's original Forge was as basic as it got. No snap tools, almost all Normal or Fixed object phases (good ol' ghost forging methods), and you had to position objects by hand. Now, all of that has been added. Again, think Reach's Forge mode.
-You can see the budget is larger then before.
-The addition of forge objects is awesome. While technically not a lot of it is really "new", there are a few new vehicles and equipment, and then objects dedicated to other Forge maps (such as Avalanche, Citadel, etc.) have been added to the Forge pallet to be used on another maps. A nice addition!
Please keep in mind this is the Insider program, meaning there are bugs and everything is not 100%. Some bugs I noticed are physics don't work 100% yet, object positioning resets itself, using a controller you can't exit the object positioning screen, and the Auto-Turret thinks that you are an enemy. Still, it is very cool to see Halo 3's Forge on PC, all updated!
