A distant yellow star shines on the world again. 31 years ago, that star first shined on this day and it positively impacted many kids, teens and adults alike. And today, that same star shines brighter than ever with no signs of stopping or slowing down.

This video is meant that shining star; to celebrate Kirby's 31st anniversary. By showing off snippets of the games' intro cutscene/first level and final boss, as well as the individual directors (if I could find their photos online) and companies who developed them, it shows off a part of Kirby on the surface, part of Kirby within the deeper iceberg and the faces behind my childhood. There were some cases where I can't/unable to showcase the final boss like Kirby's Dream Buffet. Other games, it's very difficult for me to obtain footage of the first area, such as the Kirby Clash games, so the battles against King D-Mind and Aeon Hero (Dark) will have to suffice. For remakes, I show the original game first, then tie in the Remake immediately after. I got somewhat creative with each of the remakes shown off... though Extra Epic Yarn was a hard one...

The celebration image with most of Kirby's concept art from the games and singular one from the anime do not have a single Copy Ability. This is deliberate. If I recall, I wanted Kirby himself to shine (no pun intended) on his own. Because of that, there is no artwork of Kirby from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and its sequel, Kirby Fighters Deluxe and its sequel, and Kirby Battle Royale since those official artworks have Sword Kirby as the protagonist. Kirby's main game appearances have him reside on the Warp Star, to signify their importance to the series. All other games have been placed deliberately around the star. I did my best to group similar categories of games together, such as the remakes on the bottom left, and the games where Kirby rolls around on the top right (with a nod to his April Fool's appearance in the center to contrast those spherical games). Lastly, I had some different backgrounds for the picture. First was a pink background to resemble Kirby himself. But it didn't look as good as I envisioned so I scrapped that. Next I randomly threw in a picture of Dream Land from Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. I thought it looked better, but then I thought about Warp Star and space. So I got an image of a space background from Kirby Star Allies and presto, it's complete. Since, I'm not a Graphic Artist, I couldn't make this image as perfect as I envisioned but it's the thought that counts right?

I don't think I can make another intensive video like this for next year but I can try. The idea for this video came to me on a whim two weeks ago while relooking over the marvelous 30th Anniversary celebration. I do have some ideas but if I compare them to this video it pales. Still though, Kirby deserves a celebration from me at least once a year.

Ironically, this is not my 30th anniversary video I planned on releasing. I still want to get that video out sometime... before the end
of time.
