Haunted Castle - Arcade (1987)
1Reposted to finally fix the sync issues, and bonus, I fixed my own gameplay issues. I was having such an impossible time playing the game at first and I think it's because I didn't actually set the difficulty down like I thought I did. At easy, this is much more playable although it's still cheap. As for normal difficulty or higher, I almost recommend you don't even try. It's so frustrating. Continues are limited, so you better get it right.
While this is pretty well known about and discussed, at least one thing needs to be made clear: Castlevania was the original and this was a port, not the other way around. Not naming it after the existing games almost makes it seem like this was the original and the series got named afterwards. Oh, wait, I said the word port. While I think it's pretty obvious that this isn't a 1:1 port of anything, apparently I need to specify that I mean VERSION.
