Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit - Sony PlayStation (1998)
2A reupload as I've now started figuring out where some old recording errors were happening.
The original Hot Pursuit, although there were cops in NFS games before. Still, this kicked off the high-risk flight from the police fleet and it was addictive. Not in its stride yet, but most of the pieces were there. I'd love to clean this game up with shaders to see what I could get it to look like, but on a CRT this looks great. It's deceiving here on a monitor. No joke, racing games just do not look the same on newer panels.
Coming from Test Drive 4, I had to laugh a bit. I played this first to demo it a couple years ago and I thought it was pretty stiff, but about what I remembered. I knew that it was HP2 where it got really good. Playing TD4 then coming directly to this? So much more forgiveness and it was like I entered the modern era.
