I got this game because I used to play Hidden Object games in my childhood but I'm taking to another level of playing hidden object game with horror genre like the Haunted Hotel series. Still...the series itself was infamously known for having inconsistent plot or sometimes things that don't make sense in overall. Silent Waters is one of them...
In the main campaign of this game's collector edition...You don't know what's happening other than you got a vision belonged to someone else in the middle of driving, causing you to get distracted and nearly crash a car coming from opposite direction but ended up dying in the car after falling down from a bridge which is visible from the bloods around the screen. Blacked out from the wound, when you open your eyes, something drags you and by the time you fully wake up...you were trapped in an abandoned hotel that seems to be haunted. Not only that but it seems that 3 teens got into this hotel before you do and now they were either tormented or trying to escape the hotel on their own, barely alive.
Turns out...all of this was because of 2 ghost brothers fighting over who will own the hotel after their father's death (And mind you, they already died and they're still fighting over it even as a powerful ghost) and you were coincidentally caught in the fight between these two. That was the main campaign, the bonus content has even more weird plot as you take control of a man who died protecting your girlfriend and ended up as a ghost. What's not consistent about this bonus content is that in the main campaign, the ghost can see where you are but in the bonus content here, you are a ghost and you can't see anything unless you turn on the light? Like, what?
Not to mention...the game had a glitch where an event happens in the place where said event shouldn't happen yet and when this happened, the game freeze and unless you manually close the game by force, you can't continue until you re-open the game again (Talk about bad bug). I was in the graveyard area but the red ghost (Maurice) shouted "Prepare to die!" when he should have said that while I was in Lucien's room but the bug made him said that late and the game froze because of it so much that I had to cut that section in the recording during the editing. Some puzzles are hard to understand or solve because they didn't give the hint clear enough for you to understand what to do to solve the puzzle. In a puzzle game, it doesn't have to be easy but as long as the instruction is clear, I can handle it unless the AI starts cheating against me which the final battle showed otherwise, and I quite sucked at the last one before the dynamite one.
