Hayfever is a very cutesy action platformer featuring Thomas the Allergic Mailman. He uses the power of sneezes to propel his way through the levels.
The game is very reminiscent of the platformers of yore, and features some familiar mechanics and level design from games such as Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong.
The game starts off relatively easy and simple. Your main objective is to collect three pieces of mail spread throughout the map and make it back to your trusty mail delivery van.
As the levels progress, they introduce new mechanics, such as floating platforms, objects that propel you in one direction, and etc, that make the game significantly more challenging.
What was seemingly a cute and simple platformer quickly turned in a challenging and rewarding experience. Fans of old school platformers have another title that may interest them.
As a side note, using a controller is highly recommended. I was playing on keyboard and while it was playable, others may not find it so. Did I mention I also used to play Street Fighter 4 on keyboard?
P.S. We find a doggo. It was a pleasant surprise.
