HDMI control and ARC on a Smart TV make for a much more user friendly setup between my TV, HTPC and Yamaha AV receiver. Before I used the TV remote only to turn the TV on and off and then I had to use the Yamaha remote to change the source and volume. Now the TV controls the Yamaha receiver completely to the point that its remote is no longer needed. This is great! The Smart TV (LG WebOS) works great and for Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video. But for YouTube I still prefer the PC. Here's why.
