I have come up with a truly unhinged idea of a deck to defeat the scourge that is Demon Hunter (at least before the patch does that for me). Currently, two decks match fairly well into Shopper DH; Control Warrior that gains armor that mitigates the Magtheridon chip damage, so you are not raced down; and Rainbow/Control Death Knights that can gain maximum health and heal instead. Previously, I tried to use the large healing capacity of Paladin to overcome this deck, but it fell over vs DKs and Warriors. However, there is another class that can put out large amounts of healing, gain max health and has a good ensemble of control cards.... Snake Warlock! Snake Warlock was notorious for getting a huge nerf even though the deck was not seen as tier 1 at the time and this mainly stemmed from how "unfun" it is to play against someone who steals your max health. There are few cards and classes that can mitigate this. So the Hearthstone Team bowed down rapidly and nerfed the Azerite Snake to steal 7 health, not 10. This killed the deck as an OTK/TTK as you now needed to play 5 snakes to kill a 30 (or 35 in the case of Renathal) health hero. But what if you don't run this deck as an OTK? What if you drop most (all) of the bounce cards and instead excavate like nobody has ever excavated before. Perhaps you can kill opponents by stealing 21 max health instead and the finishing them off with the excavated cards, Symphony of Sins and your army of Drillfists. Now you may be asking, how do you do this without bouncing cards? What if some newly added cards could generate you as many as 4 additional Mo'arg Drillfists instead? That's right Endgame can resummon the last demon that died this game and Drillfist is indeed a Demon. The genius though is that endgame is a shadow spell and you can get a copy of it with Sketch artist. This allows you to play 4 additional Fisters! That's one more Snake! My final bout of genius is adding Frequency Oscillators and a tram operator a Mo'Arg is also a Mech as well as a Demon. Playing this guy a turn early is pretty good tempo and is a real nuisance to other aggro decks.
During this video I iterate on this deck to improve it and then try to answer the question of can I beat Demon Hunters by protecting myself with their Health?
