Heart Grinding Exploit? | Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
(Before yelling "duh", no tutorial I've ever come across explicitly stated that time doesn't pass while in buildings and that it can be used to farm hearts in mansions without taking a hit in time. Enjoy!)
A quick video illustrating an enemy respawn exploit while in the various mansions. Why does this work? 1) Time does not pass while your in buildings, and 2) enemies will respawn once you pass a certain point onscreen.
Funny thing is that enemy respawn doesn't just happen in the mansions, and can be used in towns at night, but with the penalty of lost time.
Also, I prove that it's impossible to surpass 256 Hearts in Simon's Quest due to system limitations that were also apparent in other NES games like Legend of Zelda. Not groundbreaking, but a fun fact to know nonetheless.
