I've tested the performance of various graphical presets for Heart Of The Machine on the Steam Deck OLED, and here are my findings:
- Very Low preset: ~39-85 FPS
- Low preset: ~39-85 FPS
- Medium preset: ~29-56 FPS
- High preset: ~24-54 FPS
- Very High preset: ~24-53 FPS
- Ultra preset: ~25-51 FPS
- Steam Deck preset: ~39-77 FPS
Overall, the game runs well on the Steam Deck but the framerate is very inconsistent.
I recommend playing on the "Steam Deck" settings with a locked 60 FPS or at the Ultra preset with a locked 30 FPS for the best experience. If you want to conserve battery life, you can lock the framerate to 30 FPS on the Very Low settings.
