Heavy Rain Triggers Landslides In Jammu And Kashmir, Lives Lost, Highway Blocked
A devastating landslide hit Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch, causing extensive damage to roads and homes. The crucial highway connecting Kashmir to the rest of India is now impassable, leaving many vehicles stranded. Residents have been relocated due to the danger. The region has endured relentless rainfall for three days, triggering flash floods and more landslides. Additionally, a massive avalanche struck Sonmarg, resulting in injuries. Earlier, Ramban saw around 30 houses damaged by landslides. Over 300 families have been evacuated from flood-affected areas. The IMD has issued warnings. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly.
