💪HEAVY TURRET - IS IT WORTH IT? TESTED! Ark: Survival Evolved New Base Building/Raiding META!
3,944Ark: Survival Evolved - HEAVY TURRET! The PVP raiding, and base building meta just changed forever! We just got a new and insanely powerful heavy turret that does 4x damage, costs 4x the amount of regular turrets, and has a massive hp pool! After all the criticism and backlash, this is what the devs have come up with to address players concerns about the whole turret thing. If you don't know about the whole turret thing, here's a brief explanation: Basically the devs found that official servers run like trash, and found that having a large amount of turrets all clumped up in a small area lagged up the servers... the solution then, wasn't to fix the game, but to reduce the amount of turrets players were allowed to have, to no more than 100 within a 10k unit area. Naturally this caused a pretty massive backlash with players even creating petitions that got thousands of signatures. The main criticism of this change was "100 turrets simply isn't enough to defend my base!" so the devs addressed this concern by sticking to their original plan and giving us the new heavy turret! In today's very exciting video, we'll be taking a closer look at this new heavy turret and seeing for ourselves if it's enough to properly defend your base! - Added "Heavy Turret", which packs approximately 4 times the power of a regular Turret and has faster tracking, but uses 4 Ammo per shot.
On Official Servers, in preparation for ultimately limiting all Turrets to 100 within a 10,000 unit range, only 100 Heavy Turrets can be placed in a 10000 unit range, including ALL Auto Turrets & Plant Turrets within that range. If you wish to enable this Heavy Turret limit on your own unofficial Server, you can use these values in the ShooterGameMode section of your Game.ini:
bLimitTurretsInRange=true
LimitTurretsRange=10000
LimitTurretsNum=100
(Later on, those values will also hard-limit regular Auto Turrets and Plant Turrets)
