In Seattle, a serial killer named the Emerald City Ripper has recently taken the life of Sam Watts, a known runner to Dark. Sam had a Dead Man's Switch activated upon death, which set a chain of events for Dark to receive 100,000 nuyen upon the justice of whomever is responsible for Sam's death. With barely any money to his name and to help an old friend, Dark is off to investigate Sam's murder in Seattle...
