As the crew of the S.S. Doomed and the S.S. Doom 2 (Electric Boogaloo Class) starships we set out on a mission of exploration and adventure in the early access game Pulsar: Lost Colony by Leafy Games.

The game is something of a Star Trek Roguelike at first with its extreme difficulty (if you turn Ironman mode on like we did). It feels like a magical mix of Artemis Bridge Simulator and stuff like Star Citizen/Star Wars Galaxies/No Man's Sky.

Players take on roles like Captain, Pilot, Weapons Specialist, Science Officer, and Engineer--each with his/her own special responsibilities in the ship.
Captain commands and communicates, pilot flies and detects, weapons leads ground and space assaults, science heals, scans, and runs programs/viruses/anti-viruses, and engineer balances subsystems, controls ship power factors, and manages all warp activity.

The game is early in its Beta stage but it's honestly one of the most wondrous and promising early access titles my friends and I have ever crossed. I personally haven't had this sense of excitement and childish glee from a game since DayZ mod (before Standalone was even announced).
