Hell Farming locations guide for Treasure Class and runewords in Diablo 2
5Here are Hell Farming locations which I have suggested. There are Pit Marcelium Lower Kurast and Ancient Tunnels at Hell difficulty. Check clickable timestamps in the description as below.

➤ Keypoints:
- Pit is located in Tamoe Highland in Act 1, (lvl 85). It is one of the famous farming sites at Hell difficulty. It is because of the easiest of the level 85 Areas and many random bosses showed up in Diablo 2. From the guide by Shadow 247, it is faster to reach the Pit from the waypoint of the Outer Cloister than the Black Marsh route. The reason is just to exit the monastery and then to follow the road.
- The other reasons are numbers of unique and elite monsters - up to 8 in Pit Level 1 and maximum 3 in Pit Level 2 by Diablo 2 wiki site. They used to drop TC items and at the end of the cave, there is a sparkly chest - more possible Treasure Class items. Devilkin has Fire Immuned but other monsters such as Dark Archer, Dark Stalker, and Bone Warrior have Cold Immuned. My level 65 cold sorceress was challenging due to these numbers of cold immune monsters.
- Mausoleum is located in the corner of the Burials Ground (lvl 85) on Cold Plains. The site is randomly located on Cold Plains but it is not hard to find out. This level 85 site is famous for sorceress’ item farming. It is because there are no ranged attack enemies. Monsters like Skeleton and Hungry Dead are lightening immused. Elemental damage dealer, Sorceress, used to easily hunt those monsters in Mausoleum. There are up to 5 groups of elite monsters here.
- We found another sparkly chest. Not only many treasure class items but also budget control. I mean that the value of items are sold up to 35000 gold. In these runs, several valuable items were found including socketed items. By the way, all undead in Mausoleum made no leech for melee characters in Diablo 2.
- Lower Kurast at Hell difficulty in Act 3, (lvl 80). I heard that Lower Kurast is one of the best farming sites for high tier runes after over hundreds runs. Depending on builds and character class, it might be different for farming. Check all chest and weapon rack for Treasure Class. Perhaps, unique items including high tier runes with you.
- I don’t want to tell a lie that Lower Kurast starts farming right away while the Pit Mausoleum and Ancient Tunnels are somewhat far from the waypoint. There are Hell Buzzard, Zakarumite, Tree Lurker, and Doom Ape. Sometimes, 4 socket Monarch Shield are dropped here.
- Ancient Tunnels is placed in the Lost City at ACT 3 (lvl 85). Search for a trap door on the ground. Somewhat hard to find. There are up to 8 bosses and groups of monsters with embalmed, Horror Mage, Invader, Plague Bearer. But don’t worry too much. The sparkly chest is waiting for you!
- I am looking for a five-socket base for polearms, Lo rune for Fortitude - 'ElSolDolLo', Shako, and Tal Rasha’s Death Mask from farming sites at Hell difficulty - The pit, Mausoleum, Lower Kurast, and Ancient Tunnels. Also, these sites are relatively safer for my defensive mercenary than other level 85 areas such as Chaos Sanctuary and Worldstone keep.
