About the Game:
Released in 2024, Helldivers 2 is a cooperative third-person shooter game developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the direct sequel to 2015’s Helldivers. It was released for both PlayStation 5 and Windows February 8, 2024. It received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and sold over 1 million units within the first month of its release.
Set roughly 100 years after the triumph of Super Earth over its enemies from the first game, humanity enjoys an era of peace and colonization across the galaxy. However, while cultivating a highly valuable resource known as E-710 from a Terminid farm, the farm suffers a breach and the ravenous insectoids break free, rapidly spreading and reproducing across many planets and leaving chaos and destruction in their wake. As Humanity begins waging war against the Terminids, a new threat emerges in the form of the Automatons, a terminator-like mechanical army intent on conquering Cyberstan and ultimately destroying humanity. For players, their roles begin with their recruitment into the Helldiver Corps, a name given the elite shock troops of the Super Earth's Armed Forces (SEAF) and dropped from orbit to reclaim the colonized planets. As the player wages war across the galaxy, clues and environmental storytelling can be discovered, revealing more about the ongoing war and the true motivations behind both sides.
