We finally made our way into L'estrade Sector. What was suppose to be a major milestone for me personally, pushing back the Terminids to their final Sectors. A feeling over acomplishment, achievement, pride! as I stepped on the planet should have been liberating! I stood there taking in the green tint in the sky, the inhale of air felt so fresh dispite the fog surrounding us. I felt true.....joy! This quickly became a feeling of annoyance. I understand that accidents happen in this line of work, that the mortality rate is extremely high. I almost broke the keypad entering in this incident report.
There has to be some metaphor about this scenario, something about the easy part isn't always easier. I had decided to drop down to a difficulty seven mission list. This in the red for danger but after the field experience I have from nines, sometimes a seven can feel like a two. I was treating this mission as a holiday almost, I was gleeful. I arrived to the team and was greeted by an over-enthusiastic Helldiver with the callsign.......Pain Train. alongside P1 was Helldivers Peter and Abellaw. The mission was going fine, we had cleared out our first Terminid hatchery together and were progressing towards the second. We were concentrating fire on a stalker while a Bug Breach occurred. A charger burst forward and we found ourselves clustered too close together and as a unit spend out to the right side. Pain Tr....P1 was the furthest left and for reasons even the gods don't know, he decided he was going to reposition the furthest right. After passing behind Abellaw and then passing ON FRONT of Peter, I could only shake my head in amazement at this guys lack of awareness to his personal safety. He had just passed behind me, nearly running through me in the process. I lift up my rifle to aim downsights and that's when it happened. I remember feeling the splash of blood hit my armour before I registered what had crossed my path. Pain Train in all his glory decided to double back from passing behind me ..... and PASS DIRECTLY THROUGH MY LINE OF SITE AS I TOOK THE FIRST SHOT!.....
I swear even the charger stopped to assess what happened. By the time, I gathered myself, A3 was firing again at the breach, and Peter had already called in the replacement. I have to ask how often is this type of incident occurring because the other two lads didn't even bat an eyelid at what had just happened. Not ten seconds later and A3 must of decided that looked fun and he wanted again because he dived through my line of fire twice!
After this mission I went back to difficulty nine and do you know what happened? Nothing, Helldiver difficulty mission executed to perfection. I couldn't stop thinking to myself, "Who the hell trained those other guys?!" and something hit me in that thought..... "Who the hell trained me?" Was I naive enough to actually believe I was trained under the watchful eye of General Brasch himself. The only actually person I remember seeing was the recruit on the shuttle with me. What was her name?

Side note - No hate on Pain Train during this, stuff happens. I thought it was a funny moment that was a good tie-in to mention how we basically "train" ourselves at the start of the game and are massively underqualified to be doing this. :)

MAJOR ORDERS/BRIEFINGS
Civilian Biomass Collection Teams (BCTs) are gathering and processing inert Terminids on liberated bug planets. The Helldivers must maintain our control of these worlds until these operations are complete.

Designated planets must be under Super Earth control when order expires.
