Heretic Playthrough: E1M1
7To be honest, I'm dreading Ultimate Doom E2M5 of my Hard-Doom playthrough. In the meantime, I started this. Heretic is much easier, even the later levels, and I've been looking for an excuse to actually play through all of Heretic, in order.
Yes, I did jump, towards the beginning, since I'm too lazy to fully disable it (force of habit, I use E1M1 to test new weapons I've been working on), but it didn't affect gameplay at all. If it ever does, I'll stop recording and redo the level. Also, Heretic is MUCH easier than Doom to 100%, since you don't have to worry about tiny health or armor bonuses that in some cases aren't worth picking up. Also, I still haven't totally finished the enhancement wad that is run with this; I am planning on adding more gore and some other effects as well. I'll probably start using the updated one when I start E2.
Heretic E1M1 - "The Docks"
This is run on the Skulltag source port, with the latest version of Heretic - Shadow of the Serpent Riders. I am also running an enhancement wad that adds some visual enhancements, makes some of Heretic's sounds louder, makes the FireMace a little more useful, and adds alternate firing modes to the powered-up versions that are the same as the unpowered modes.
