Heroes of the Storm-Rexxar first look and gameplay!
3Rexxar is the newest hero in Heroes of the Storm. He is ripped from the Warcraft lore and transplanted into the HOTS arena to do battle as the first ranged tank in the gamer. Honestly.....tank is sort of an overestimation but more on that in a moment.
Rexxar "tanks" not with his face but more with his pet bear's face, Misha. Misha does most of the legwork while Rexxar stays in the back throwing axes like a survival hunter. Not an agile, bow user like Tyrande and Sylvanas, Rexxar share a bit more in common with the plodding style of Leoric. He can be quite good if you manage Misha to an absolute T. I don't think the micro is quite as bad as the Vikings but you do need to be very aware of what Misha is doing. If Misha gets in trouble, be prepared to hit that heal AND make the bear retreat.
Rexxar is vulnerable to dive comp and flanking stealthers. Most smart players will learn he's squishy and the they should walk around the bear and smack Rex in the face. Misha can do a few things to prevent this including timely use of the bear charge which acts as a stun. PIcking up the extra charge if Misha misses is really nice. Rexxar can ice block in a way by feigning death but I've never tried it. He is a capable camp clearer and can even solo bosses with the right build. I've watched him take on a Blackheart Bay boss around levels 12-14. The constant switching from your target orientation to Misha's does require work and fast reflexes. Also note, Misha's charge works off where it is at that time and how it is facing rather than you. Nothing worse than telling Misha to charge when it's off in the forest taking a dump.
