Scrabble has been released on the Xbox Live Arcade in the Hasbro Family game night Wii port. The Draw of the XBLA versions is the Online does Scrabble hold up to the standards set by other XBLA classics. Aside from the very annoying staring mr. potato head and music the presentation is fantastic, There are several fun twists on the original scrabble. My personal favorite is penalty where it makes you the cop and its your responsibility if you think a word is wrong to call out your opponents. The online has many ups and downs. On one hand you have an excellent match making system, virtually no lag on the crappiest connections, and a great game to play with friends. Yet it seems EA didn't predict the way people work online, there are no time limits between turns, if someone leaves the entire game ends and you have to restart the game, and you cannot unlock achievements unless you finish each game. Another big problem with the game local game playing is a bit broken. One of the most important things in Scrabble is that you keep your tiles a secret from your opponents and its impossible in this version while playing locally. So it's up to you the XBLA version is only $4 cheaper than the real scrabble board game, it comes down to the online if you have a solid group of friends to play scrabble with its very if not there's not much to recommend.
