Rock. That's what these pedals are good for. Which one do you like?

Disclaimer: My playing is a tad sloppy because I'm on sacks of industrial strength painkillers for two prolapsed discs in my back. I'm pretty stoned..

Excuses aside, let's get on with the nitty gritty..
I only have a few distortion boxes. These are my good ones. I wanted to side them all up against each other as I've never done it before. The settings you see on each of them are how I would normally use them in a gig situation.

The guitar is a Floyd Rose Redmond Model 3. It's one of my favourite axes and features a fine set of vintage spec single coils and a bridge humbucker. See http://www.floydrose.com/redmodelthree.html for more info on it. Bloody gorgeous guitars. I can't recommend them highly enough. You might have a hard time finding one though as production stopped in 2006.

The amp was a Laney VC50 combo 2x12 with Celestion Greenbacks. The standard 6L6's have also been replaced with some Svetlana EL34's.

The mic is a Violet Design 'The Amethyst' studio mic.

I fed the mic to my MacBook Pro which was running Logic via an M-Audio ProFire 610 interface.

Inside Logic I added a tad of compression and some plate reverb to give the clip some ambience. There's a Waves L2 Limiter on the output channel to check levels.
