Upper-left shows the standard relic while the lower-right shows the hang-rail skip.

Hang-rail skip saves around 2 seconds or so in any% and also the relic visit in 105%. This was played on PAL though, so it might save a bit more on NTSC because of NSJs and stuff. Might be risky to go for during the relic/death route once-cycle since you miss a 3-crate under the hang-rail that could cost you the gold relic.
