Higurashi Ch.3 (Pt 12): Neo Goes Through A Series of Events That Make Him Question Reality

After the very long day of the Watanagashi Festival was put behind him and having hid Satoko's uncle's body after managing to kill him, Keiichi thought that he'd finally be able to rest easy and move on with his life with Satoko and the rest of their friends, despite the potential problem Takano presented with keeping his crime hidden. When Neo and Keiichi went to school the following day, Keiichi decided to try and play off his absence from the festival the second he walked in the door.
When Keiichi finally meets up with the other club members, they express confusion over Keiichi claiming to be absent from the Watanagashi Festival, which in turn confuses both Keiichi and Neo because they know for a fact that they were nowhere near where the festival was being held throughout the entirety of yesterday. But the others insist that the exact opposite of that had actually happened, and go into detail over all the activities they and Keiichi did throughout the festival - and Neo can't help but notice how EXACTLY similar their stories sound to events Neo and Keiichi ACTUALLY experienced during the Watanagashi Festival during Chapters 1 AND 2... Understandably, both Neo and Keiichi are incredibly confused, and Neo tries speculating what the similarities between the club's account of the Watanagashi Festival and the previous chapters' Watanagashi Festivals might actually mean.
But that isn't even the most confusing thing that Neo and Keiichi learns from their friends - when Satoko shows up and Keiichi tries inquiring with her in an indirect way how things have been for her at home, Keiichi is told information that ultimately indicates that Satoko's uncle is still alive and seemingly no worse for wear.
Cue a long sequence of events that take Neo and Keiichi from school, to Dr. Irie's clinic and eventually the murder site itself as they try to determine why reality as they understand it seems quite different from what happened to them last night before going to bed, but as they keep going further and further in trying to find concrete answers things only continue to grow more confusing in turn...
