By some insane miracle Neo and Keiichi have survived their fall from the bridge, and so make their way back to Hinamizawa. But upon arriving they notice how unnaturally quiet the whole village is - there isn't even any sounds from the insects... Eventually they find the Japanese Self-Defense Force had arrived in the village, and when Keiichi tries to get information from them on why they're there the soldiers turn on a news broadcast. It is from this broadcast that Neo and Keiichi get their answer...



In short, tragedy had struck all of Hinamizawa while Keiichi was unconscious - a tragedy so terrible that it renders both him and Neo practically speechless...
