In making this video, I discovered that Sawano's body of work is actually a lot more diverse than I initially thought, and it was difficult to find many pieces that genuinely sounded similar beyond surface-level attributes such as instrumentation and the use of the three (four if you count David Whitaker) vocalists he likes to work with. In fact, I think many of the similarities heard here come more from a directorial source than a creative one: people asking Sawano to compose pieces that sound like ones he's composed before rather than him just repeating the same ideas. I guess that means the joke in this video isn't even very funny. Oops!

If you're interested in listening to one of his more unique-sounding OST's, I recommend checking out the Blue Exorcist soundtrack, there's some very interesting stuff there.
