In 1914, the Armies on the Western Front began to settle in for the prolonged war. The German High Command decided to treat there men to a celebration, but the Christmas Celebration spread across no man's land and both sides climbed out of their trenches and celebrated the holiday together. The Christmas ceasefire of 1914, or as many know it the Christmas Truce of 1914.
