If you found this channel trough the Byleth videos (Thanks for all the views!) You might be a bit confused as to what's going on. I've made a collection of fanmade music for the game Civilization 6, based on various countries and cultures around the world. I promised to make this after the original Byleth video, but that was delayed because I wanted to make the follow-up first. Even if you're not into Civ, I hope hope you can enjoy the music, as I pot a lot of time into it.
This one is an original composition for the Hittites, a major Bronze-Age power who rivaled Ancient Egypt and was the first major civilization in modern-day Turkey. After falling in the Bronze Age collapse, aside from a few small successor kingdoms, they were gone without a trace. I choose to cover them because, essentially, I have no limitations on what I could do with them, so I took this as an opportunity to make a more somber, brooding piece representing the fate of the Hittites rather than a very militaristic-sounding song. I also took this opportunity to write a more simple, ambient, and "vibe-y" composition after how complex the Haiti theme became.
This is the first piece I've made that's completely original! All the others have been adapted from a folk song relating to the Civilization represented, but this is an original melody. It's inspired by the Byzantine and Ottoman themes, given the shared location of the three empires. It's also a 3/4 waltz, similar to the Phoenician theme. Because it's an original composition, I can give it an original name: "Feast of Arinnitti", based on the central goddess of Hittite Mythology.
