Here's my newest cover! Admittedly, this one gave me a bit of trouble figuring out. The Apache are one of my favorite Native American groups, so they were high on my list to receive a fanmade theme. One unfortunate shortcoming, however, is that their music is almost entirely vocal. As much as I would love to have an actual sun dance group perform for the cover, I think hiring one is a bit unfeasible at my current budget. So, any part that would have been vocal has been replaced with flutes and piccolos, which are also common in Apache music.

The composition features heavy use of drums and bells, which are common in Apache musical tradition. In that sense, the cover seems a bit similar to the Mapuche theme from the original game, but I've tried to differentiate it from that. The arrangement was an uncredited piece of music I found on the U.S. national archives, attributed to the Great Plains native tribes. It is one of many melodies used for Sun Dance ceremonies. As an Easter egg, the industrial and atomic themes feature a similar chord progression to The Shadow's 1963 dance song "Apache"

The traditional sun dance is one of many ceremonies used by native American tribes, and this one is done specifically for healing. Participants form a drum circle around a small group of individuals who would sing while dancing. It is one of the hallmarks of great plains culture, and I am glad to have attempted to represent it in this piece.
