The latest transmission from LET Recordings comes from Hiver. The Italian pair of Giuseppe Albrizio and Sergio Caio recently released on Belgium’s Curle label once more, and here their new outings come with a remix from label owner and De School resident JP Enfant.

The Last Straw is first and is a big melodic track with sci-fi pads placing you in outer space as kicking drums power things along. Supple bass gurgles down low as shooting melodies bring plenty of colour to the track and make for a dramatic and urgent experience. JP Enfant steps up to remix and does so by pairing it back then slowly building with edgy celestial chords, chattery claps and hunched drums that really get you up on your toes. The second original is Setas, a deeper track but one that is just as quick and slick. It has well swung claps gliding over smooth bass rumbles as synth stabs add urgency. Last of all, Inner Motion drops down into electro-tinged broken beat territory, with watery sound design, liquid keys and icy hi hats getting you into a trance. It’s a third different techno style that rounds out a mature and thoughtful EP.
