HK Aerial - Explained (Terminator Lore)
Hunter Killer Aerial from Terminator, T2, T3, Salvation, Genesis, Dark Fate Explained
The HK Aerial is a large Airborne Hunter Killer with Vertical Takeoff and Landing capability (VTOL) Built and controlled by SkyNet, and made to patrol the wastelands of the Future War, operating in support of ground units and to eliminate Human Resistance Fighters.
The Aerial Hunter Killer is around the size of a small jet aircraft, with a flat, slender fuselage and twin vertical stabilisers, and features twin spotlights located on the nose to locate and highlight enemies.
For propulsion, It has a pair of wing-mounted High-Bypass Turbine Engines located inside pods at the ends of each wing, Once airborne, it can either hover in place, or the engine nacelles can rotate forward up to 90° to provide forward momentum, allowing it to operate similarly to both a Helicopter, or fixed-wing aircraft.
The Aerial HK Features a devastating array of under-slung and wing-mounted weaponry, including lasers and a plasma cannon attached to a controllable arm located on the belly of the aircraft.
The HK-Aerial is a fearsome and intimidating enemy to resistance soldiers, and is practically-invulnerable to small arms fire, but can be brought down by a direct hit from a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile if they are able to get in close enough.
Some variants of the Aerial Hunter Killer are able to carry T-700 Terminators onboard, carry and store a Spider Tank, or operate as a Bomber, While a larger Transport variant is capable of carrying oversized loads and cargo.
