It's easier to clip through the door than through the wall above. However there's a risk of clipping through the floor instead and dying. Edit: Rolling into the door first seems to greatly reduce chances of clipping into the ground and makes clipping into the door easier.
Roll cancelling risks swinging the sword on entry, which will make you exit the cave immediately.
Simply jumping at the door at a 45° angle at 25 FPS is very consistent.
