16The Chaos Dwarfs are finally here and CA have been nice enough to give me access a couple of days early and we're playing as Astragoth Ironhand. They paly a little bit like an unholy mix of skaven and the dwarfs since they got expandable chaff units up front they they gladly blow up if they can take some enemies down with them, they got some low leadership swarmy, skirmishy, and sneaky hobgoblins, and also some sturdy dwarf frontline holding units. And an top of that they got good shooting some crazy artillery and then throw in some heavy cav and monsters for good measure in there and you got the chaos dwarfs.
When Astragoth Ironhand was at the height of his powers he was the most potent Chaos Dwarf sorcerer-prophet to walk the Plain of Zharrduk in a thousand years. Now his powers have begun to wane. His body is slowly succumbing to petrification. A decade ago he constructed a mechanical device by which he is transported from place to place.
His legs have long ceased to work and even his hands have now turned to stone. To an extent these have been replaced by the machinery grafted to his body. This engine was constructed by his slaves to plans created by Astragoth himself, and combines the undoubted skills of the Chaos Dwarf race with twisted dark science.
