I'm building a console for my home automation system. Since it's the anniversary year of the first moon landing, i decided to loosely base the design on DSKY, the "display and keyboard" interface of the Apollo guidance computer.
It's NOT a replica of any sort, it's based on completely different hardware and software. But i like the typical 1960's/early 1970's style of computer interfaces.
In this first part of the two part series i'm showing the hardware i'm using and some rough ideas on how the interface will look and work.
In the second part i'll show the finished system and walk you through some of its functions.
